Our Services

Every service on this site addresses cockroaches and palmetto bugs specifically, identification, treatment approaches for German cockroaches and outdoor species, entry-point sealing, moisture control, and settings from single-family homes to condominiums and commercial kitchens. Choose the page closest to your situation, or call directly if you're not sure which one applies.

Not sure what you saw, or want to know what a visit involves? The cockroach guides cover identification, warning signs, hiding spots, night activity, preparation and treatment day.

How to Pick the Right Page

Most callers know one of three things: what the roach looks like, where they found it, or what kind of building they live in. Each group of pages below starts from one of those. If you can only answer one question, start there.

Start from what you saw

Small tan roaches in a kitchen or bathroom are almost always German cockroaches, which breed indoors and are covered on German cockroach treatment. Large reddish-brown roaches that show up at night near doors, garages or drains are American cockroaches, the insect most Floridians call a palmetto bug; see palmetto bug control. Slow, dark roaches in mulch and pine straw are Florida woods roaches, which rarely live indoors. If you are not sure, the identification guide compares them side by side.

Start from where you found it

Kitchens, bathrooms and drains each call for a different approach. Roaches in cabinets and behind appliances point to kitchen treatment. Roaches coming up through tubs, floor drains or laundry lines point to bathroom and drain treatment. For roaches that keep getting in from outside, entry-point sealing and moisture control usually matter more than any spray.

Start from your building

Shared walls change everything. Apartments, condos and duplexes often need coordinated treatment across units, which is covered on the multi-unit, condo and association and apartment pages. Mobile and manufactured homes, seasonal homes that sit empty, rentals between tenants and restaurants each have their own page as well.

How a Referral Works

Florida Cockroach Control is a referral service, not a pest control company. When you call, we ask where you are, what you are seeing and what kind of property it is, then connect you with an independent local specialist who covers your area and handles that situation. Pricing, scheduling and the treatment plan are set directly with that specialist. If you want to know what happens next, what to expect on treatment day and the preparation guide walk through it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Start with palmetto bug control. A single large roach after dark is usually an American cockroach that wandered in from a drain, garage or yard, which is a different problem from an indoor German cockroach population.

They overlap. Cockroach control covers the full approach, including inspection, treatment, sealing and follow-up. Extermination focuses on knocking down an active infestation quickly, which matters most with German cockroaches.

If you live in an apartment, condo or duplex and see small tan roaches repeatedly, the source may be in a neighboring unit. The multi-unit and condo pages explain when the association or landlord should coordinate treatment.

Yes. Most callers are not sure. Describe what you are seeing and where, and the call is routed to a specialist who can sort it out on site.
